What is the Simply Me Experience?
Simply Me is a portrait and art show experience for your child... complete with a red carpet photo op!
Your child gets their own unique
portrait session with
Erin Lackey Photography.
We’ll create an epic portrait, feature them in our Black and White Art show at the State Theater, get a VIP experience and "Red Carpet Moment" and they will have the opportunity to be in an international art show in the fall!
Friends, family and the community will get to witness the spunky or sassy personality of your child and they will have this once in a lifetime experience that is sure to be a core memory.
Plus, they will get to see their portrait in the show!
One participant's portrait will then be selected to be in the international art show in the Fall!
Along the way, we’re also raising money for Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child, a local organization that strives to make arts education accessible for students in Butte County!
Your Child's Portrait Experience (It’s Simple!)
Step 1 – Tell Us You Want To Participate
Fill out the short form below to apply... No payment is required today. From there, we’ll reach out to you with all the details to schedule your child's session.
Step 2 – Schedule Your Child's Portrait Session
We’ll give you a quick call within 48 hours to go over how it works, answer questions and pick a session time.
Step 3 – Get Ready for the big reveal!
After your session, we’ll choose your favorite images and any extras you may want to purchase. We will sit down and watch a custom movie personalized to your child. The laughter (and sometimes tears) will be contagious!
Step 4 – Art Show, VIP Red Carpet & Artwork
Erin will choose which image will go in the art show at the State Theater on Thursday, May 28th at 6:00-8:00pm. Your child will get their VIP Red Carpet experience and a night to remember! Core memories will be created and their confidence boosted!

Simply Me isn’t just about the portrait session, it's about the Art Show Experience and about giving back.
This year, Erin Lackey Photography is proud to partner with Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child a local organization that designed to assist a community in planning strategically to provide a high-quality arts education for every K-8 student using the existing resources of the school district, local government, business community, post-secondary education sector, and local arts community aided by the Kennedy Center. Any Given Child: Butte County consists of three school districts Oroville City Elementary, Palermo Union Elementary, Thermalito Union Elementary. BCOE serves as the backbone organization for this collective impact project.
We will be collecting donations at the opening of the Art Show that will be given directly to: Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child, so your child's moment in the spotlight also helps local children get access to art education!

As a busy mom with a busy family with three boys, I can’t say enough good things about working with Erin Lackey! She made our session in her Downtown Oroville studio so relaxed and fun, even with our energetic youngest, Masen. Erin is a bottle of happiness and sunshine! She is truly passionate about her work and it shows! The black and white portraits she created are absolutely stunning and truly capture each of our kids’ personalities. Erin even helped us start a gallery wall in our home so we could enjoy our portraits every single day. Do I pay anything when I click the button?
No payment is collected today. All you’re doing is raising your hand and letting us know you’re interested in learning more.
We’ll follow up to walk you through the details and book your child's portrait session.
How does the Art Show work?
After all sessions are photographed, Erin will select the image for the art show and you will have the opportunity to invest in Artwork or your child.
What do I get when I enter?
You receive a professional pet portrait session, a special photo gift from Erin for participating, the entry into the Art Show and the VIP Red Carpet experience for your child.
How Much Does it Cost?
Because there are hard-costs to an event like this, we do charge a participation fee for the Portrait Session and VIP Art Show Experience. For Erin's expertise and artful design at the portrait session, the photo gift and the VIP Art Show Featured experience, the fee is $250. Additional artwork will be available to invest in but is not required.
What if my child is shy or wiggly?
Totally fine!
We specialize in photographing children with big personalities, big feelings, and big wiggles. We’ll guide your child with patience, take breaks when needed and provide lots of encouragement. The session by itself is such a confidence-booster!
I have other kids outside the age range, can they be photographed too?
Yes! Although they may not be the ages we are looking for to be featured in the art show, this is still an AMAZING opportunity to have your kids (or family) photographed together! We welcome the whole family in the session!
❓ How does the charity part work?
On the night of the Art Show, we will collect a donation at the entry table for Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child, our local partner.
Your child gets an unforgettable experience and another child gets the arts education resources they need.
